Sage Xi2

Sage Xi2
Sage makes some of the best fly fishing rods that money can buy and the Sage Xi2 is no exception. The Xi2 fly rod series allows you to concentrate on what’s important-the fish, instead of on your casting. Sage’s famous Generation 5 (G5) Technology has gone into making these rods, so the Xi2 fly rods are lighter and feel livelier than other saltwater rods on the market. Sage’s MPS or Modulus Positioning System is used to provide an surprising level of ‘line feel’ throughout your cast. This ability to feel the load on the fly rod lets you apply power more efficiently.

The Sage Xi2 has a strong upper mid section and a quick tip. This means that you have the strength to conquer any fish and the midsection to rip a sinking line or fly out of the water, and the tip will load quickly for those sneaky fish.

The Xi2 rods have low-profile and oversized guides and round tip-top guides that reduce friction and handle bulky knots. The reel seats are saltwater safe-constructed of black anodized aluminum with a cork fighting butt, so whether it’s a big dorado or a tarpon you’re after, the Sage Xi2 rods get the job done and in a big way!

There are thirteen of the blue Sage four piece Xi2 fly rods. They cover all of the line weights from a 9 foot six weight for specks and reds up to the 8 foot, sixteen weight rod for whatever monster you have in mind! The Xi2 9′ 8 weight, 10 weight and 12 weight rods are the workhorses for reefs, flats and offshore and are the most popular sizes if you want to do all-around saltwater fly fishing.
